The post-doc position(s) will be part of the five-year research project Democracy, Autocracy, and International Cooperation (DEMCOOP), which is directed by Professor Jonas Tallberg and funded through an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). The research project explores why, how, and under what conditions regime type affects international collaboration. The research project relates to both comparative politics and international relations, and makes use of a combination of quantitative, qualitative, and experimental methods. The postdoctoral fellow(s) will conduct research within the research project DEMCOOP, individually and in collaboration with other project participants. The tasks include data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results through scholarly journals and conferences. The position involves up to 20 percent teaching.
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
The degree must have been completed at latest before the employment decision is made, but no more than three years before the closing date. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances. Special reasons refer to sick leave, parental leave, elected positions in trade unions, service in the total defense, or other similar circumstances as well as clinical attachment or service/assignments relevant to the subject area.
We are seeking candidates with a PhD in Political Science or related disciplines with a background in comparative politics or international relations. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in quantitative text analysis and/or survey experimental analysis. Additional merits include the ability to collaborate in an international team of researchers.
The position involves full-time employment for a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances. Start date 2025-01-01 or as per agreement.
