Our approach to research means that we often work outside established academic boundaries, which means we need innovative models for financing. During the past few years, we have built experiences, contacts and an infrastructure to be able to receive funding from a broader group of funders (philantropists, businesses and individuals).
MISTRA Finance to Revive Biodiversity (FinBio) is a research program hosted by SRC. It is focused on delivering cutting-edge, decision-relevant research that supports the integration of biodiversity into financial systems and decvision-making. The program is a partnership between academic and financial actors. Our mission is to support the financial sector’s capacity to contribute to a nature-positive economy, enhancing the resilience of our planet by reversing the loss of nature and biodiversity.
We are looking for someone to work with the FinBio research group to help translate and pilot some of the recent research with companies and investors. Specifically, we will be piloting a tool (the Earth System Impact metric) and developing possible ways for companies to integrate a set of environmentally material priorities for their corporate reporting. If you are interested in being an instrumental part of making sure science becomes available to a wide audience and directly actionable this is a perfect position for you. You will get to work alongside a diverse group of researchers working at the forefront of sustainability science and in the interface with corporate and financial actors. You will be exposed to a wide range of academic and financial system stakeholders and over time will be expected to work independently to drive the testing/implementation of said tools and guidelines.
