Department of Physics at Stockholm University is one of the largest departments within the Faculty of Science and supports a broad range of basic research in experimental and theoretical physics. It has about 250 employees, of which 95 are PhD students. Many have been internationally recruited. The Department is part of the AlbaNova University Center, which apart from the Department of Physics houses the Department of Astronomy, the Physics Departments at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita). Members of the department are also part of the Oskar Klein Centre for Cosmoparticle Physics (OKC), a rich scientific environment that comprises more than a hundred researchers working in both theory and experiment.

The applicant will be placed in the Astroparticle and Elementary Particle Physics division at Stockholm University. The division is part of the ATLAS collaboration, and is deeply committed to the operations and upgrade of the experiment, as well as to the analysis of the data collected. The announced position will focus on the luminosity program of the ATLAS experiment, in particular the online activities.

Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. We seek a self-motivated candidate who wishes to take a leading role the ATLAS luminosity program. Previous experience with the ATLAS online luminosity infrastructure will be considered an advantage.
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of 12 months. Start date in spring 2025 or as per agreement.
