Stockholm University is a leading European university in Sweden’s dynamic capital city. Research and education at the Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences (DEEP) is located in the Arrhenius Laboratories, situated at the University Campus at Frescati. Research spans a broad range of biological subject areas including ecology and evolution, ecotoxicology, marine biology, plant physiology, systematics, and environmental and climate science.
Presently DEEP is made up of 25 research groups, 35 PhD-students and 10 postdocs. Plant molecular physiology.
The subject includes experimental molecular studies on the physiology of eukaryotic photosynthetic organisms.
Research, teaching and supervision.
In order to qualify for the position as associate professor, the applicant must have demonstrated good teaching skills and have a doctoral degree, or equivalent research expertise, of relevance to the subject area and the main responsibilities of the position.
All teaching positions at Stockholm University require the ability to collaborate and the general ability and suitability to perform one’s duties.
Completed training in teaching and learning in higher education, or equivalent knowledge, is an advantage. An applicant who has not completed at least 15 credits of teaching and learning in higher education and is not considered to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge should undergo such training within the first two years of employment.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research and teaching skills. The assessment of research skills will focus primarily on merits within the subject area of the position.

The successful candidate will teach courses in plant physiology, including the molecular biology of plants, mainly at the bachelor level.
The successful candidate will have access to Departmental and University infrastructure for imaging, biochemical analyses, GMO plant growth, greenhouses and common gardens as well as access to National infrastructure for sequencing, chemical imaging, proteomics, bioinformatics such as the SciLife laboratories.
Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement at the time of appointment, but the candidate should be able to carry out teaching and administrative duties that require good command of Swedish within two years of employment.
