Business administration, especially finance.
The position involves the developing and teaching first- and second-cycle courses in finance, as well as contract education in Sweden and abroad. The responsibilities also include course coordination, independent research and supervision of students at different levels. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the finance subject’s research affiliation, as well as participate in the internal work of the School and the pedagogical development of the subject. Teaching is mainly conducted in English.
Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a PhD in business administration, especially finance, or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise.
The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.
Since the main part of the teaching is in English, the applicant must have excellent skills in using English in spoken and written communication, for instance giving evidence of experience in teaching in English.
In the appointment process, special and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching and research proficiency within the discipline of finance.
Teaching proficiency must be demonstrated through teaching in first- and second-cycle education, as well as supervision, course coordination, and pedagogical development within finance. Teaching proficiency should be well documented and in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.
The scientific proficiency should be demonstrated through international publication and potential for publication in financial economics over the past eight years, in journals ranked at level 4 according to the Academic Journal Guide 2024 from The Association of Business Schools (ABS). The potential could, for example, be demonstrated through conference contributions or articles under review for journal publication at level 4.
Strong emphasis will be placed on a documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers.
Strong emphasis will also be placed on publication and potential for publication in financial economics in journals ranked at level 4* according to the Academic Journal Guide 2024 from The Association of Business Schools (ABS).
Emphasis will be placed on administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development findings.
Emphasis will also be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies.
It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.
This position (in Swedish, “universitetslektor”) is full-time, indefinite-term employment. A six-month probationary period may apply.
The employment includes time for competence development and research according to the current terms and conditions of the collective agreement.
An applicant who does not have at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education, and is not deemed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within the first two years of employment.
Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement at the time of appointment, but the candidate should be prepared to carry out teaching and administrative duties that require proficiency in Swedish within two years of employment.
