Project description

We are seeking a researcher for a fixed-term project within the framework of a research program on allosteric modulation. The project combines NMR spectroscopy, surface plasmon resonance, and computational approaches to investigate how binding in one region of a protein influences a distant binding pocket. A particular focus will be on understanding the role of protein dynamics in this process.

Main responsibilities

You will work together with structural biologists and computational chemists, primarily carrying out molecular simulations of the proteins involved in the project, but also applying machine learning to predict the effects of allosteric modulation and to understand the biology of the specific systems we are studying.

Qualification requirements

Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria

In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, is required, as well as experience in delivering research presentations and documenting work. Experience in independently carrying out molecular simulations, conducting research projects, and authoring scientific publications is essential. Personal qualities important for this position include the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other group members to achieve common goals. Experience in machine learning is considered an advantage.

About the employment

The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of 11 months. Start date 2025-11-01 or as per agreement.
