The Department of Astronomy at Stockholm University has about 80 employees and 30 PhD students. The main research areas of the institute are Galaxies, Supernovae, Computational Astrophysics, Solar Physics, and Planet- and Star-formation. More information about us, please visit: the Department of Astronomy.
The project focus is on observational or numerical/computational studies of the universe during the Reionization era. We seek to hire postdoctoral fellows within the newly established KAW research program of high scientific impact at the astronomy department of Stockholm University and Oskar Klein Centre, which has Reionization as its theme. The selected candidates will research physical properties of galaxies and star formation and their contribution to Reionization from observational and numerical perspectives.
The observational projects will involve analysis of both imaging and spectroscopic data obtained from JWST, HST, and other observatories. The theoretical projects will involve hydrodynamical studies of galaxies or modelling of the intergalactic medium.
