Laboratory Technician

The Department of Molecular Biosciences, Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW) is one of the biggest departments at the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University with more than 30 research groups and about 180 employees The Department of Molecular Biosciences, Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW) conducts experimental basic research in molecular cell biology, intergrative biology and infection and immune biology. Read more about MBW at www.su.se/mbw.

Main responsibilities

This Laboratory Technician position is available in the laboratory headed by Prof. Martin Jastroch. Main resposibilities are genotyping of different mouse models and molecular biological methods such as tissue processing, isolating RNA, protein as well as qPCRs, Western Blot and immunohistochemistry, tissue cell culture and handling of laboratory mice.

Qualification requirements

We are looking for someone with practical and theoretical knowledge in molecular biology (Labratory assistant, Bachelor-, Master Degree). High motivation, ability to work independently as well as in a team and good english skills are required. FELASA certificate, as well as routine with metabolic phenotyping is advantageous.

About the employment

This is a time-limited full time position, for 6 months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date 2025-11-01 or as per agreement.
