Main responsibilities

There is an opening for 2 research assistants tasked with data collection for a research project at the department studying regulation of social media platforms by democratic states.  

Successful applicants will be part of generating a global data-set on social media regulations as part of the research project ‘Shaping the Online Public Sphere’. Tasks include data collection and coding legislation into the data-set. This includes identifying and learning about legislation aimed at social media platforms adopted by states and adding this information to the project’s data set. 

The project offers opportunities for skill development in data collection, and processing and the use of Excel.

Qualification requirements

You should have an MA degree in political science or related social science field. You do not need previous experience as a Research Assistant but you should be thorough and able to work independently on your tasks. Excellent proficiency in English (reading and writing) is required. Experience with excel is a merit. 

Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.

About the employment

This is a part-time position at 50 % and fixed-term for ten months. Workplace and working hours are flexible but some of the tasks will require on-site presence at the department. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date from December 1 or as agreement.
