The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. SciLifeLab (SciLifeLab) is a national center for molecular biosciences with focus on health and environmental research. The center combines frontline technical expertise with advanced knowledge of translational medicine and molecular bioscience. The appointed research assistant will be responsible for setting up, running, and analyzing molecular dynamics simulations focused on the calculation of free energy associated with lipid desorption from lipid bilayers. The position involves designing simulation protocols, performing trajectory analyses, and comparing results across different membrane compositions and experimental conditions. The successful candidate will regularly interpret and present findings, and contribute to ongoing methodological improvements in the lab.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in chemistry, computational chemistry, or biophysics. Required qualifications include practical experience with molecular dynamics simulations and computational free energy calculations. Familiarity with contemporary MD software packages and analysis tools is necessary. The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
The position refers to full-time and is fixed-term for 6 months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date 1 March 2026 or according to agreement.
