The Department of Physics is one of the largest departments within the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University and supports a broad range of basic research in experimental and theoretical physics. It has about 250 employees of which 95 are PhD students. Many have been internationally recruited. The Department is part of the AlbaNova University Center, which, in addition to the Department of Physics, houses the Department of Astronomy, the Physics Departments at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita).

The position will be associated with the project Timing many-body effects in atomic systems. It focuses on the development of methods to extract temporal information from attosecond experiments.
The position involves the development of computer codes and the performance of quantum mechanical calculations, often in close contact with the experimental groups with which we collaborate.
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills and previous experience with many-body calculations in connections with attosecond experiments. Experience of relativistic calculations in this research area is of special importance.
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of 12 months. Start date 1 April 2026 or as per agreement.
