The Intergroup Relations and Social Change research group at the Department of Psychology is seeking applicants for a two-year postdoctoral position on the ERC funded project “Healing Societies: the impact of social context on intergroup reconciliation”. The overarching aim of this project is to systematically examine the influence of social context on effectiveness, processes and durability of intergroup interventions in societies affected by intergroup conflict.
The project includes large-scale longitudinal (online and field) experiments in different conflict affected countries and relies on data from representative, heterogenous and community samples. Together with professor Čehajić-Clancy, the successful applicant will work on designing and evaluating field interventions using community samples in conflict contexts.
As a postdoctoral researcher in the group, you will lead one workpackage as part of the “HEAL” project aimed at understanding the impact of social context on intergroup reconciliation. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating intergroup interventions in the field in order to understand which interventions, under which contextual conditions, can facilitate or hinder intergroup reconciliation. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own studies under supervision. This position is 100% research-based and funded by the ERC “HEAL” project.
Your responsibilities include designing and conducting field experiments, coordinating studies across multiple sites which includes collaboration with multiple international research groups, data analysis, and writing scientific articles.
Our research group collaborates with other research groups across the globe (as part of this and other projects), providing opportunities for international exchanges and collaborations.
