Department of Physics is one of the biggest departments within the Faculty of Science and supports a broad range of basic research in experimental and theoretical physics. Project description

The position will be associated with a project on topological phases in moiré materials, focusing on band geometry and strong correlations (e.g. fractional Chern insulators) and connections to experimentally relevant moiré platforms

Main responsibilities

The position involves research in topology in moiré materials, developing theoretical and numerical approaches, scientific writing, and collaboration with national and international partners. Some supervision may be included.

Qualification requirements

Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria

In the appointment, particular emphasis will be placed on scientific excellence. Merits include documented experience in topological phases in moiré materials/2D systems, strongly correlated physics, and relevant analytical or numerical methods, as well as a strong ability for collaboration and communication.

About the employment

The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of 12 months. Start date 2026-06-01 or as per agreement.
