The Department of Sociology at Stockholm University is one of the biggest departments at the Faculty of Social Science with about 85 employees, 600 annual students and contains the Stockholm University Demography Unit (SUDA).

The position will be associated with SUDA’s research on Family policies and Migrant integration: understanding parental leave and childhood education and care use and their consequences among migrants in Sweden.

The position involves data analysis and write a scientific paper on how reforms in parental leave policies affect migrant’s use.
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills and the applicant’s previous publications records in relation to this project. The applicant needs to demonstrate solid experience with quantitative research and specific experience with longitudinal data (preferably with register data experience). Researchers should have demographic research experience.
The position involves full-time employment for 3 months, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances. Start date 1 March 2026, or by agreement.
