With its long tradition of excellent research, the Department of Mathematics at Stockholm
University has a prominent place in Scandinavian mathematics. The department consists of three divisions: mathematics, mathematical statistics and computational mathematics. The division of mathematics has around 20 permanent faculty members. Members of the division conduct research in a number of areas within mathematics, including algebra and geometry, analysis, and mathematical logic.

Qualification requirements

In order to qualify for the position as associate professor, the applicant must have demonstrated teaching skills and have a doctoral degree or equivalent expertise.

All teaching positions at Stockholm University require the ability to collaborate and the general ability and suitability to perform one’s duties.

Assessment criteria

In the appointment process, special and equal attention will be given to research skills and teaching skills. In addition, attention is given to administrative skills and the ability to interact with the surrounding community.

It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.

In the case of otherwise equal qualifications, the following criteria will be used to distinguish between candidates: the ability to teach courses in Swedish.

About the employment

This position (in Swedish, “universitetslektor”) is full-time, fixed-term employment until 2027-08-16. Start date by agreement.
