With its long tradition of excellent research, the Department of Mathematics at Stockholm University occupies a prominent position within Scandinavian mathematics. The department comprises three divisions: Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Computational Mathematics. Researchers working in the Mathematical Statistics division possess expertise spanning many branches of mathematical statistics, such as biostochastics, biostatistics, discrete random structures, actuarial mathematics, stochastic control theory and statistical machine learning.

Mathematical statistics
The position involves research, teaching and supervision. A significant part of the teaching relates to modern statistical methods.
In order to qualify for the position as senior lecturer/associate professor, the applicant must have demonstrated teaching skills and have a doctoral degree or equivalent expertise.
All teaching positions at Stockholm University require the ability to collaborate and the general ability and suitability to perform one’s duties.
In the appointment process, special and equal attention will be given to research skills and teaching skills. In addition, attention is given to administrative skills and the ability to interact with the surrounding community.
It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. It is a merit to be able to teach in Swedish.
This position (in Swedish, “universitetslektor”) is full-time, fixed-term employment.
