The Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences (DEEP) is located in the Arrhenius Laboratories, situated at the University Campus at Frescati. Presently around 100 people, including 35 PhD students and 15 postdocs, in 25 research groups work at DEEP.

Main responsibilities

As a research engineer you will work in the laboratory of the Johannesson group at DEEP. The Johannesson lab at DEEP makes use of the unique lifestyles of fungi to explore evolutionary questions about individuality and genetic inheritance. The group is now looking for a research engineer to work on molecular biology of fungi. The position aims to support an ERC-funded project, in which we investigate the phenomenon of early germline sequestration in (mushroom-forming) fungi. The work will involve molecular biology techniques, fungal culturing, and microscopy. It will also include organization and coordination of the lab.

Qualification requirements

We are looking for you who have a master- or PhD in biology, and have documented experience of work in molecular biology. Experience in mycology, microbiology and/or microscopy is meritorious. Collaborative skills are required. You need proficiency in spoken and written English.

About the employment

This is a full-time, indefinite-term employment with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date as agreement.
