The position entails teaching and supervision with a focus on courses in personnel, work, and organization at the undergraduate and master’s levels as well as own research. Department employees are expected to participate in the department’s internal work, including overall administrative tasks. Teaching in other courses may also occur.
The work as a senior lecturer includes participating in pedagogical, research-related and administrative development work, which means, for example, participation in working groups and committees.
Department employees are also expected to actively seek external research funding, and create contacts with the national and international scientific community.
Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a PhD in Sociology, or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise.
The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.
Proficiency in Swedish a requirement for the position, as a large part of the course literature and teaching uses Swedish and deals with a Swedish-language context.
Special and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching and research skills.
The scientific excellence shall be demonstrated by publications in one or more of the fields of personnel, work, and organization
Research skills should be demonstrated through scientific publications in one or more of the fields of personnel, work, and organization with emphasis on the last ten years, primarily as articles in international peer- review journals, or books published by international publishers.
The teaching skills should normally have been demonstrated through teaching, course development, supervision at both undergraduate and master´s levels. Teaching proficiency should be well documented and a in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.
Strong emphasis will be placed on a documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers.
Strong emphasis will be placed on a detailed research plan covering the next few years.
Strong emphasis will be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies.
Strong emphasis will be placed on proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development findings.
Emphasis will be placed on administrative skills.
Previous teaching experience in the field of personnel, work and organization is in this context a merit.
It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.
An applicant who does not have at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education, and is not deemed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within the first two years of employment.
In the event of a discrepancy between the Swedish original vacancy and the English translation, the Swedish version takes precedence.
